Dugout Canoes

The Ancient Ones traveled the waterways of Florida and even crossed the seas to the outer islands in their dugout canoes.

You will participate in the making of a traditional burned out log canoe and learn the secrets of how the natives used fire, clay, and shell tools to craft pine and cypress logs into canoes, corn pounders, bowls, masks, and totems.
